I'm 16, and I've been composing music, now I want to write movies and TV programs. However, I have so many ideas that I cant pick one to write, and its really frustrating me. Also, being a young writer, should I develop a screenplay on a work that already exists, or used one of my own ideas. Finally, what is the best software for me to use to write my screenplay?Has anyone ever written a screenplay for film or TV, because i need some advice. Any help?

Any good word processing software will do - even MS Word.
The source is not an issue - what is important is that the idea or story line must grab the reader.
Don't worry about your age - now is as good a time as any to get started. Look at Kevin Smith [Clerks, Dogma] - he wasn't much older than you when he got his big start.
Once you have your screenplay, contact a lawyer in Los Angeles who does ';entertainment law.'; That lawyer will either represent you or will turn you on to a good agent to help you break into the industry.
