The pt test is tommorow, and I'm fairly confident I'll pass. Does anybody have any good advice on how to better prepare myself for a pt test in the future?Any good advice to help pass a pt test?
The obvious answer is to stay in shape by exercising and eating right, but there are a few tips, and tricks I have learned over the years.
1. 30 minutes before the test starts take 2 caffine pills (NO DOZ , Vivran) for an energy burst.
2. warm up before the run by jumping rope for 5 minutes or doing a couple of sprints. Tnhis might seem like a wate of your energy but you need to get your heart rate up to run at your best.
3. DO NOT eat a large meal the night before or the morning of the test, only small snacks.
4. Get 8 hours of sleep the night before.
5. When doiung the push ups spread your hands apart wider than you normally wide. A wide arm push up is easier to do than a close hand pushup, especially if you have long arms.
6. WHen doing sit-ups on the way down let your upper body flop on the ground instead of using your ab muscles to lower your body down.
7. Run with your hands opened, not a closed fist.
8. Remember, the faster you swing your arms while running the faster your legs will move.
9. Take soem nasal spray de-congestant before you start to open up your sinuses for deeper breathing.
10. Make sure you ';relive'; yourself before the test. You dont want to have to stop for a bathroom break during the run.Any good advice to help pass a pt test?
run fast!
PT for what branch of the military are you talking about. It would help if you said what branch of the military specifically so people can help you
tmrw? You can't do anything in terms of fitness by then obviously. Just don't be nervous, breath steady, %26amp; go to freakin sleep now.
i got 1 and right b4 the test pop 1 or 2 energy drinks u'll pass the test with flying colorus lol
crossfit.com
SEALs do it, Army SF do it. Enough said.
WTF why am I getting ';thumbs down';?! Do you people even know how good crossfit is? Don't knock it until you've tried it.
Yeah buy a treadmill. Use it every 3 days and do push ups and sit ups every 2 days. I usually do 4 sets of 14 push ups and 3 sets of 30 situps every 2 days and change it up to something like 6 sets of 9 push ups and 4 sets of 15 sit ups and back and forth to keep your body guessing you get in shape fast this way.
Worked for me in the Air Force. If i was in the Army or Marines I would just increase the reps or sets. No big deal you have to make it part of your life style though.
Push yourself till you can't go any further. Then suck it up and press on. You've probably been training for a while and if you can't pass it now you never will. If you haven't been training then you are just S.O.L Breath in through your nose and out through your mouth. Control your breathing to slow down the production of lactic acid in the muscles. The faster you breath the faster you tire.
Incorporate a workout you're comfortable with into your daily routine and do it=all the time. Evaluate yourself every 90 days or so to track your progress: that'll tell you where you're strong (sorry) and where you need to work.
Get some bro's to work/out run with you; make it a friendly competition. That always seems to help.
The best thing you can do tonight is get 8-9 hours of sleep.
well it's 2morrow, so you know what you need 2 do 2 past, do it, don't be nervous cause u know u got this, give urself that type of confidence and you'll do great. but future wise, just keep urself in shape, that's what my husband does, b/c last minute work outs to past pt. is a *****! so exercises as much as possible in the future starting Monday a.m
Take one every week. Seriously. You'll be so used to it by then that it's ridiculously easy.
Better yet, get some buddies together, and make it a saturday event. After the PT test, go shoot some skeet at the rod and gun club or go fishing etc. Make a day out of it, so it's part of a fun activity.
