You can pretend your a Elf Priestess and think about what you want her to do.I鈥檓 about to play a Elf Priestess fur the first time, does anyone have any advice to help me run her?
You're talking about a WoW elf priest right? It Depends on what you want her to do. I mean do you want her PvP PvM(player versus monster) or heal. I'd suggest checking out the Worldofwarcraft.com forums in the priest section. They have a library of priest guides to assist you. Sorry I wasn't more helpful. It's been awhile.
First off would be making the character as what she is, rather than as what she's supposed to be. A character is, first of all, a person. The role comes next. Still, you need to learn everything you can about what deity that character is supposed to follow, and any rites that must be done.

You need to figure what clergy would fit the character, depending on alignment, race and personality. You don't want an Elf to follow Clangeddin, or a Good character follow something like Cyric.

Also, bear in mind that a priest, like a cleric, has certain limits. A priest has a set number of spheres, so a priestess of, say, Lathander can't use spells that go against its principles - Summon Shadow, for instance.

A priest tends to be a little more clerical, so it's not just about healing or helping in battle, but also doing what your deity commands. A priest of Talos would rather kill a weak PC than heal him, while a priest of Tempus would prone strength through battle.
Here's some things to consider to help round out your character.

1. Pick a deity that works for the personality you want your character to have. Does she love nature? Magic? Knowledge? War?

2. What spells does she like to cast? (you can convert any non-domain spell to a Cure wound spell at any time).

3. What types of weapons is she allowed by her deity to use? Does she like hand to hand or ranged combat? Does she always avoid hand to hand (potentially giving up attacks to ensure she stays out of harm's way).

4. Does she have any weak attributes? What 'weakness' can you use in role-playing to make her interesting?

5. Does she have any character/personality flaws you can create?

A cleric is a holy person so don't be afraid to make the pious (after healing a fellow party member you can jingle your purse where you put donations for your deity, use expressions that fit in with the religion of your character (a friend found biblical verses that fitted his deity and would 'cite' those all the time))

Have fun - her personality will develop as you play her.
I would guess the character you are going to run would be a drow priestess. If so you can get some character studies if you read The Drow Trilogy';s and Legacy of the Drow, by R.A. Salvatore. These books will give you a lot of information on the type of character you like.

Fare Well good friend
