I wrote a question earlier about the best way to have the converstation about trying for a baby but just as i was planning my convo i just spoke with my partners brother and they are expecting their first - now i feel like my partner will think i am copying them. i am super happy for them because they have been trying for a year but now i am a little jealous too :(Ok now i need some help - advice please about talking to partner about trying for a baby?
just say u know ur brother and his partner are having a baby - well what would u think about us trying for one? see how he reacts to it and then say well i have been thinking about it for a while, but now they are having a baby its wanted me to have a baby of our own even more.
If he says not yet - that i'm afraid you're just gonna have to respect that and wait until he is ready.Ok now i need some help - advice please about talking to partner about trying for a baby?
The timing with your brother in law's pregnancy sucks, but you shouldn't let it change what you were planning on doing.
The simple way of starting up the conversation is to say 'I would like to start trying for a baby, what do you think of this?' If he says 'you just want a baby because they have one.' simply say that you were already thinking of this before they announced their pregnancy.
And if you can't have a conversation that starts off like that with your partner, then maybe you two aren't ready to make a baby.
well i agree with the other answers but also suggest how great it will be because if you have a baby by the time the brother in laws child and your child are at the ages of like 6 and 7 etc they will be able to become play mates also you might be able to help each other out you can baby sit for them and they can baby sit for you

I think if I were in your position I would still try. Think of how close the little ones will be if they are growing up together.
