I am trying to sew by hand some heart pillows between 8 and 10 inches in height for heart patients. I drew a pattern, turned it inside out and stitched with a needle and thread and when I was done, it looked terrible! You could still see all the stiching. Did I not stitch close enough together? Any help or tips at all? I really want to try to make many to donate. A pattern or explicit tips would be wonderful! Thanks!Help/advice for sewing a heart pillow?
Before you turn it, be sure to clip the seam allowances, especially on the curved parts, and cut in pretty close to the point at the bottom.
Machine stitching would be better, if you can do that. When you get to the points, leave the needle down, turn the fabric, then start stitching again.
This is a nice thing to do.Help/advice for sewing a heart pillow?
If you are doing your stitching by hand, you may want to use a backstitch. It would solve that problem.
